This is our second year participating in Hope Walks & Rolls. Since last year's walk, Cameron, Nora and I were able to experience Faiths Lodge. It is hard to go into details, because it is such a personal and intimate setting. What is done at Faith's Lodge is simply amazing. They are dedicated to helping families who have lost a child. They helped us cope in ways we had never even thought of. This walk supports what they do, and it is so deserving of every donation given!

Our story-

Cameron and I welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby boy into our world on June 16th, 2014. Calvin Xavier Strickland. He was perfect in every way. Calvin changed so many lives while he was here with us. He was so incredibly smart, he would shock us everyday. We were convinced he was a genius! At 19 months old, he would gladly recite his alphabet, and count well into the teens. He knew every word to his favorite songs. He knew everyone's names. Smartest kid ever.

January 28th, 2016. Started out like a normal day. Until we got a call from daycare that something was wrong. We were there in minutes, and Calvin was already gone by the time we got there. He passed so suddenly and so unexpectedly. It has been over two years, and I still can't make sense of it.

I created a team, Cardinals for Calvin. To honor my baby boy. To help this organization help families like mine. To get my loved ones together for a day. And to remember Calvin.
