June 29^th, 2016 our world as we knew it was about to change. We had our first ultrasound at Kaiser Riverside. Donald is nervous you can’t see it on his face, he would later tell me his stomach was tied in knots. The technician asks, “Would you like to know what you’re having?” To which we replied- YES!!

“It’s a Girl!” Donald let out a yell along with a jump, that startled us both. He looked at us and said, I haven’t done that since I was in the Marine Corps. From this day forward she was never out of our thoughts.

They tell us it’s amazing how we have stayed so strong. Its behind closed doors they don’t see us hurt or cry when we hear your song. You’ll Be in My Heart.

They see a smile on our face, but miss the hurt in our eyes. For that glimmer you brought us on June 29^th, left our eyes too soon. We carry you in our hearts every single day instead of in our arms. We will always love you and miss you- that we cannot hide. When people ask about our daughter- they will always see our Pride.

We were fortunate enough to attend a three-day retreat in Northern Wisconsin for parents who have lost a child. At Faith’s Lodge we saw Memorials in honor of children that left this earth too soon and we want to be able to do the same for Oaklynn. We appreciate any donation you are able to give.
